About Me

The name of my blog originates from percussion rudiments, but I trace its context to a line in a poem that I wrote, shown here.  I was born and raised in a family of musicians, but chose a career in science.  I lived most of my younger life in the South, but work/adulthood led me to the Midwest.  I find that my writing emanates from all the things that make me.  I write mostly poetry, because it appeals to the music that is always in my head, though occasionally I might drift into prose on a whim.

I self- published a chapter-book of poems, entitled Accidental Songs in early 2015.  You can get it here:

I’m earnest in my efforts to make my poetry accessible.  I think the interaction between reader/poem/poet is valuable. I believe that my words need a home – and this is the best place I’ve found so far.

I appreciate your comments and feedback about my poems and other writing.

I am also relatively new to blogging–about two years off and on. I guess It goes to show that you can teach an old dog new tricks. 🙂
And I love your banner…unique and eye catching.

Thanks for visiting. Writing for me has been a growing experience. I’m sometimes very motivated, other times just reflective…but writing here just seems the right thing to do. I hope you’ll visit again. John

John, there’s a blog called Poets’ Corner that may interest you. I can’t copy and paste on the device I’m using now, but there’s a pic of it on my sidebar one can click on and got there. I joined a couple of days ago.

It’s taken me nearly six months to respond to your comment on my About Me page, John, but, hey, better late than never! We are kindred spirits, but, one thing I’ve discovered over the years of blogging and singing, I’ve discovered that we are very far from being on our own in this universe. See you around … just going to leave a comment under your ‘Eulogy from A Far Away Place’.
